Zika Virus continues to strike
With one bite from a mosquito which carries the Zika virus can cause you to become very ill and possibly die.
The Zika virus is a dangerous virus which is transmitted by mosquitoes. This virus has targeted pregnant woman. This causes their babies to have irregularly small head. This is called microcephaly. A pregnant woman that are bitten has a 1% chance of having a baby with this disorder. This also involves the baby's brain not to be fully developed that a means they will suffer some disorder with the body.
A team of neurologists from Brazil is working on making a vaccine which will hopefully help people that have been diagnosed with this disease. This team of neurologists is mainly focusing on the babies with microcephaly. They have been working on a vaccine that will help the babies enlarge their heads back to the normal size. They are also trying to figure out how they can fix the brain. The brain of the baby may suffer from feeding disorder, hearing loss, eyesight damage, and bone disorders.
I think that the Olympians should be aware of what is happening as the Zika virus is mostly in hot and tropical places. With the Olympic games in Rio De Janeiro, Olympians have more chance of catching the sickness due to the hot climate. The Olympians should be aware of their surroundings. They should always have mosquito repellent. But not too much that will ruin the atmosphere just enough to protect them and the people around them.
